Let me start by saying Paxton & Poppy’s story is wonderful. It’s how you want to leave this series, however, I’m still struggling with the fact that we won’t be reading about them anymore (*!sigh!*).☹️It’s Paxton’s senior year & Poppy’s sophomore year. Paxton has gone through a lot in the past year, which has his friends worried for his future and his being able to be drafted into the NFL. Poppy’s doing just fine until her first love, ex-boyfriend from high school, Mike, texts her out of the blue (he went to college pretty far away & hadn’t been in contact with her since the break-up) to meet him at a coffee shop in their hometown. She second guesses herself but finally decides to meet him to see what’s up. Old feelings hit Poppy the minute she sees him, but Mike’s not there to just say hi. After being back home without reaching out to her in the first 2 months of school, Poppy finds out Mike’s transferred to the same school as her and then introduces her to his girlfriend who transferred back with him. Stunned silent, it’s all Poppy can do to get out of there without revealing any of her emotions.Paxton has to find a way to convince his friends, family & coaches that he’s sober, focused & committed to doing everything it takes to keep his reputation clean for his team & his future. Poppy’s trying sort out her emotions & what to do about Mike. I will miss not having another book to read about this crew, but now I can go back to the beginnings & enjoy it straight through! ❤️ Stitch, baby, stitch!The Dating Playbook series by Mariah Dietz is one of my favorite series. I'm so sad this is the last book, but Writing the Rules was truly the perfect ending. I wanted to read Pax's story after I read Breaking the Rules, but now I'm so glad Mariah waited. Pax and Poppy were strong individual characters throughout the entire series, always the best friend and big brother. It was really sweet to see them get their HEA together.I highly recommend this book - and the rest of the series!
